Rhinoplasty

Surgery of the nose that can correct breathing, appearance, or both in a single operation.

What it is

Rhinoplasty reshapes the framework of the nose, the bone and cartilage under the skin. It can open a blocked airway, correct the outward shape, or do both together, which is why it is planned carefully around what each person actually needs.

Because the same operation touches both breathing and appearance, the plan is made with you, not applied from a template. Dr. Shebli will tell you what surgery can and cannot change for your nose specifically.

Who it is for

People who cannot breathe well through the nose, who have a shape they would like corrected, or who have a combination of the two. It suits adults whose nose has finished growing, and a consultation confirms whether an operation is the right step for you.

The consultation

Dr. Shebli examines the nose inside and out, discusses what matters to you, and explains what is realistic. Nothing is decided in a hurry. He describes the operation, the recovery, and the alternatives, so you can take the decision in your own time.

The consultation lasts twenty minutes.

Where it is performed

Rhinoplasty is performed under general anaesthetic in a licensed private hospital in Limassol, with the anaesthetic and hospital team he works with regularly.

GESY or private

Rhinoplasty carried out to improve appearance is a private operation. Where there is a functional breathing problem, part of the care may fall under GESY, and Dr. Shebli will tell you honestly which applies to your case at the consultation.

Why patients travel to him for this

A surgeon who trained specifically in the nose

A rhinoplasty fellowship in Cairo

Dr. Shebli completed a dedicated rhinoplasty fellowship in Cairo under Professor Hossam Foda, an internationally recognised name in nasal surgery. This is focused training in the nose itself, beyond general ear, nose and throat practice.

Breathing and shape, in one operation

He is a septoplasty and sinus surgeon who also carries out aesthetic work. That combination is the point: the airway and the outward shape can be corrected in the same operation, where many cosmetic surgeons address only the appearance.

Recovery, week by week

What the first weeks are like

  • Week 1A splint sits on the nose and there is bruising and swelling around the eyes, most noticeable in the first few days. The splint is usually removed at the end of the week.
  • Weeks 2 to 3Visible bruising fades and most people feel comfortable returning to normal activity and work. The nose still feels firm and a little swollen.
  • Weeks 4 to 8Swelling continues to settle steadily. Contact sport and heavy exercise are avoided until Dr. Shebli confirms it is safe.
  • Months and beyondThe fine swelling at the tip is the last to go and settles gradually over the following months. Dr. Shebli reviews you along the way.

Healing takes time and follows its own pace for each person. This is a general guide rather than a promise, and your own recovery plan is given at the consultation.
